Stonestreet Elementary sends words of encouragement to family of fallen officer

D THESE DOORS,AND IS A LESSON IN COMPASSION. WITH EVERY COLOR CRAYON USED WITH EACH PIECE OF FOLDED , CONSTRUCTION PAPER AND AS MUSIC PLAYED COMPASSION WAS CREATED AT STONESTREET ELEMENTARY>>IT GAVE US ANOTHER WAY TO GIVE BACK TO OUR COMMUNITY A WE’RE BIG ABOUT BEING COMMUNITY HERE AND I JUST THOUGHT WHAT A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR US. >>THE OPPORTUNITY CAME WHEN A PARENT OF A STUDENT, A POLICE OFFICER’S FIANCEE, FELT THE IMPACT OF THE DEATH OF OFFICER NICK RODMAN, AND WANTED TO FOLLOW IN ANOTHER POLICE WIFE’S FOOTSTEP>>ONE OF THE WIVES OF OUR POLICE GROUP AND A TEACHER HAD HER STUDENTS IN HER CLASSROOM MAKE CARDS FOR THE RODMAN FAMILY, SO I KIND OF JUST WANTED TO DO IT ON A BIGGER SCALE, GETTING THE ENTIRE SCHOOL INVOLVED. >>AND THEY ARE ALL 450 , STUDENTS. KINDERGARTEN AND PRE-K ARE MAKING CARDS FOR ELLIE RODMAN, NICK RODMAN’S 4-MONTH OLD DAUGHTER. THE FIRST AND SECOND GRADE ARE SENDING THEIR COMPASSION TO THE PARENTS, GEORGE AND LINDA RODMAN. 2ND AND THIRD GRADE, THEIR CARDS WILL GO TO TWO-YEAR-OLD MASON RODMAN,HIS SON. AND FINALLY, THE 4TH AND 5TH GRADERS WILL WRITE THEIR OWN ENCOURAGING WORDS TO ASHLEY RODMAN, HIS WIFE. THE PROJECT ISN’T JUST FOR THE RODMAN FAMILY, IT’S TO TEACH LIFE LESSONS.>>I JUST WANT THEM TO REALIZE THAT EVERYBODY GOES THROUGH TROUBLES, BUT WITH THE SUPPORT THAT IS GIVEN THAT THEY CAN GET THROUGH THAT AND HOPEFULLY THIS WILL HELP THE RODMAN FAMILY.>>WITH WORDS LIKE THANK YOU, AND I’M SORRY, THESE STUDENTS ARE GETTING THE MESSAGE. FOR CHLOE JARRED,SHE MADE HER CARD A FLAG.>>NO MATTER LIKE, WHAT HAPPENED, I STILL WANT THE RODMAN FAMILY TO FEEL SAFE AND TO BE HAPPY.
