UMD Department of Theatre presents The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee

UMD’s theater department invites you to
join our academically and artistically rigorous program. We offer both The
Bachelor of Arts and The Bachelor of Fine Arts degree programs allowing
students to choose a path that best suits their individual aspirations and
talents. Students in both programs are supported by rich and varied production
opportunities preparing them for careers in the performing arts and a wide range
of related professions. Our 2019 2020 season includes gut-busting comedies,
whimsical fantasies, pivotal dramas and fun for the whole family.
Come see the Tony Award-Winning Musical the 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling
Bee on the main stage at the Marshall Performing Arts Center October 3rd
through the 12th. The spelling bee finalists are ready to go in this wacky
and heartfelt musical. Come celebrate the triumphs and tragedies of adolescence
with only temporary pauses for puberty and peanut allergies. With a book and
score by the award-winning writers William Finn and Rachel Sheinkin, this
rowdy musical has something for everyone. Advance tickets are available for
students at ten dollars each or you can get free rush tickets 30 minutes before
any performance with a valid UMD student ID. Tickets are available in person at
the box office located in the lobby of the Marshall Performing Arts Center or
